Every walker and supporter was a winner at Fun Walk 2007. For its second year, the Fun Walk in Prospect Park, presented by the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service, successfully raised much-needed funds to support recreation programs for adults with developmental disabilities. The Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service is one of Brooklyn's first and largest providers of social services to disadvantaged children, families and adults with disabilities.

This year, the Fun Walk raised more than $5,000 that will directly benefit a bowling league, art classes and weekend trips in the community for individuals with developmental disabilities. These activities help them to establish friendships, build skills and self-confidence, and participate more fully in community life.

Fun Walk 2007 was a collaborative event that received media support from News 12 Brooklyn, Courier-Life Publications and The Brooklyn Paper; branding support from the advertising and design students at New York City College of Technology in Downtown Brooklyn; safety patrol from the New York Police Department's Transit District 30 and its Explorers group; and fitness instruction from Embora Wellness & Movement Studio, who served as the Official Wellness Partner and hosted the pre-walk warm up and workout.

Additionally, Melody Lanes bowling center provided 80 free bowling games, and Circles Restaurant, Miracle Grill and Smiley's Pizzeria provided gift certificates to Fun Walk participants.

The staff, clients and friends of the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service are truly grateful to all Fun Walk participants for supporting recreation programs for adults with developmental disabilities.
